Footy Shorts is about a fourth generation footy player Lennie Lewis who is somewhat overshadowed by his Father:Lennie ‘Lethal Weapon’ Lewis, his grandpa:Lennie ‘Torpedo’ Lewis and his great grandpa:Lennie ‘Cannon’ Lewis. Lennie likes footy but doesnt have the same fanatical approach as the rest of his family does. So when his family decides to ‘adopt’ a aboriginal boy Calvin Calamari and teach him to be a star footy player, Lennie is finally happy. Lennie moves out of his room to a bungalow down the back to escape the constant footy discussions but also to give him time to spend time with Calvin as they become good friends. It comes down to the game after all the hard training they’ve put calvin through. Unfortunately Calvin does not get to play even though he is a great player. Lennie realises he won’t get to play, and after he gets injured Calvin finally gets his chance. He stuns the crowd when his freakish skills get put on display. This story was about the importance of friendship between two footy players to help eachother excel.
